Everyday Gauges, Checked to ISO/IEC 17025:2017
Gauge blocks, ring and plug gauges and granite surface plates see constant handling, and small dimensional shifts go unnoticed without a calibration cycle. A visual check can miss a worn plug gauge or a surface plate with a low spot, and either one can produce a bad accept/reject decision at the inspection station.
Each gauge is compared against reference standards traceable to NIST and returned with a certificate stating the result and reported uncertainty. Gauges found outside class tolerance are flagged on the report rather than silently excluded from it.
Gauge Types Covered
Calibration covers the dimensional standards most commonly used to verify part geometry and set up inspection equipment on the floor.
- 01
Gauge blocks
Grade-specific length verification across the full set or individual blocks.
- 02
Ring and plug gauges
Go/no-go and master diameters checked against class tolerance.
- 03
Granite surface plates
Flatness mapped across the working surface per federal specification grading.
- 04
Thread and pin gauges
Pitch diameter and functional gauging verified to class limits.
How Gauges Are Processed
- 01
Intake and review
Gauge type, class and required standard are logged against the request.
- 02
Comparison
Gauge is measured against a reference standard of known uncertainty.
- 03
Result review
Data is checked against tolerance before release.
- 04
Certificate issue
Report issued with reference standards and measured uncertainty.

Why Cleveland CMM Calibration and Repair
- 01
Broad gauge coverage
Blocks, rings, plugs and surface plates are handled under one request.
- 02
Class-specific tolerancing
Each gauge is checked against the tolerance for its stated class.
- 03
Documented uncertainty
Every certificate states the reference standard and reported uncertainty.
